Happy Cyber Monday! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend.
Whether you’re looking for gifts for your own little ones or someone in your family, here’s some gift ideas that are a little more outside the box of the many VTEC gadgets and stuffed animals your little one probably already has.
1. Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chair
Toddlers of all ages seem to adore chairs in their own size. What’s more special than having a chair that’s all their own?
There are lots of chairs like this on the market, but Pottery Barn Kids is my number one pick because you can get their name embroidered on it and the quality is hard to beat.
Select patterns of the chairs are on sale right now. They also have a coupon code good for free shipping and 20% off your order, with the code: OHWHATFUN.
2. A Teepee
Yes, these are quite the fad right now. It seems like you can’t log onto Pinterest and see nurseries or playrooms without a teepee these days. But they’re so cute!
As a gift idea, this appeals to me for my toddler because it doubles as a piece of furniture and will grow with her. I remember building forts for a long time, so this seems like something kids will start to enjoy in the toddler stages and well beyond.
There are many options out there for teepees (some of which aren’t cheap!). There are some cute ones on Etsy, look on Pinterest for ideas on how to make your own if you’re crafty, or check out this one (pictured above) from Pillow Fort at Target, on sale now for $72.
3. A Book Nook
Why not give your little learner an area they can start to create good habits in by reading? There are so many options to make a book nook or book wall in their play room or nursery. You don’t even need that much space for a lot of these options.
Something as simple as some shelving on the wall or even a basket on the floor next to a chair works. Combine the two gift picks from above and you’d have a really sweet play space for them to explore their favorite books and let their imaginations run wild.
Here’s a great post with ten different ideas for book nooks.
4. Activity Playmat
I suppose this one counts as a “toy,” but it also doubles as a functional piece since it’s a rug.
Toddlers are just starting to understand how the world works. Making the cars “go” on the roads is a fun treat for them and helps them foster creativity and independent play.
This Melissa & Doug one from Amazon is only $20 and comes with four cars.
Of course, my favorite gift of all that I don’t think any kid ever tires of is books! There’s so so many good book gifting options for all ages, but toddlers especially.
Usborne Books are great quality and durable. I recently found some great Christmas books at TJ Maxx for cheap too.
I hope these gift ideas are helpful and a little more outside the box than what your standard toy stores have to offer.
What are you gifting the toddlers in your life this year?
